Cycling Paradise Sylt – 29 August 2026
Your cycling weekend on Sylt: island ride, sea views, gourmet stops and a shared finish-line moment in Wenningstedt.
On Saturday, 29 August 2026, Sylt once again becomes the stage for Cycling Paradise. This year, start and finish are located in Wenningstedt at Kursaal / Saal am Kliff, right by the sea and in the middle of the event area.
Cycling Paradise is not a race. It is a premium cycling and lifestyle experience for everyone who loves riding, nature, community and the special Sylt feeling.

The event
You are not riding against the clock, but with people who share the same passion. Whether you ride sportily, at a relaxed pace or join the family route: the focus is on a safe ride, great encounters and a day that feels unmistakably like Sylt.
Erik Zabel and Denise Schindler, among others, have confirmed their participation for the upcoming edition. Denise Schindler is also planned to host the finish-line moderation on event day.
Routes
You decide how you want to experience Sylt:
– approx. 100 km – the big island route along some of Sylt’s most beautiful sections
– approx. 65 km – sporty and compact
– approx. 40 km family route – shorter, more relaxed and planned for a maximum of 50 participants
The route takes you through Sylt’s distinctive landscape: coastline, open views, wind, sea and island villages that are especially beautiful from the saddle. Vintage bike, road bike, gravel bike or e-bike – you are welcome.
Schedule on Saturday, 29 August
from 06:00 – Setup and preparation
The start and finish area will be finalised, including branding and participant areas.
07:30-09:30 – Start in small groups
Participants start in small groups. This creates a more relaxed flow, improves safety and makes for a better riding experience.
10:30 – Start of the family route
The shorter route is planned for a smaller field and is ideal for everyone who wants to experience Cycling Paradise in a more relaxed way.
approx. 10:00-17:00 – Finishers return to Wenningstedt
The groups are expected to return throughout the day. The busiest finish-line period is expected from around 12:00.
approx. 13:00-17:00 – Finish-line moderation
Denise Schindler will accompany the finish and turn the return to Wenningstedt into a real event moment.
17:00-18:00 – Live act
A live performance is planned on the terrace of the Kursaal.
18:00-22:00 – DJ, lounge music and evening finale
After the ride, the start and finish area remains the meeting point for riders, companions, partners and guests.
Refreshments on the route
Several gourmet and refreshment stops are planned along the route. There you will find drinks, small snacks, orientation and the chance to take a short break.
The final locations and time slots are currently being coordinated with partners and authorities. As soon as everything is confirmed, we will publish the details on the website and in the participant information.
Please still plan responsibly: bring enough water, personal nutrition, weatherproof clothing, lights, a spare tube and everything else you need for your ride.
Start, finish and event area
Wenningstedt will be the centre of Cycling Paradise in 2026. Around Kursaal, Strandhafer and Saal am Kliff, the central area for start, finish, bike parking / parc ferme, branding, music and shared arrival will be created.
Our aim is that after the ride you do not simply roll through the finish line and leave, but stay: arrive, have a drink, meet other riders, let the day fade out and experience Cycling Paradise as a community.
In case of bad weather
If the weather does not play along, programme elements can be moved from the terrace into the Kursaal. This keeps the event character alive even in the rain.
